KAHER’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Basic Science Research Center (Dr. P. K. BSRC), Belagavi; organized a one day webinar on “Regulatory Compliance and Laboratory Practices”, held on 20th April 2021. The webinar was conducted under the auspices of KAHER’s University Department of Education for Health Professionals. The webinar focused on the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Control (QC) and Laboratory safety and accreditation. Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Vivek A. Saoji inaugurated the webinar. He spoke on the importance of research in the development of nation and urged to find solutions to health issues for upliftment of the society. Hon. Registrar Dr. V. A. Kothiwale spoke on the applied research at molecular level to understand the mechanism of bio molecules. Dr. Suneel Dodmani programme coordinator briefed the participants on the theme of the webinar.
The members present during the inauguration included Dr. Ramesh Paranjape, Director, BSRC, Dr. Suneel Dodamani, Dr. Satveer Jagwani, Dr. Ritiha Uppin, Mrs. Dhanashree Patil, (Dr.) Abhijit Bhatkal, Ms.Geetanjali Mastiholimath and Dr. Vanishree Bubanale,coordinator of UDEHP. Dr. Ramesh Paranjape delivered a lecture on the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). He elaborated on the principles of GLP and importance of GLP compliance. Dr. V. Shyam Kumar spoke on the importance of laboratory safety and Dr. Shrinivas Patil delivered lecture on Good manufacturing Practices. The eminent speaker Dr. Anita Desai, Professor, Neuro-Virology, NIMHANS Bengaluru; spoke on the NABL accreditation and gave useful information on the various accreditation agencies and highlighted the importance of running a laboratory smoothly.
Ninety participants from the different Universities / institutions of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa attended the webinar.
The valedictory function was graced by Dr. Sunita Patil, Director, UDEHP, KAHER.
