Shri Amit Shah appreciates KLE’s High-Tech Advanced Simulation Centre

Shri Amit Shah, Hon. Minister of Home Affairs, Government of India on  17th January 2021 inaugurated the KLE Advanced Simulation Centre and Clinical Skills Lab, which is a new a state-of-art venture of the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, (Deemed-to-be-University), set up in the J.N.Medical College, Belagavi.

Shri B.S.Yediyurappa, Hon. Chief Minister of Karnataka,  Shri Pralhad V.Joshi, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, Government of India were the Guests of Honour. Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chairman, KLE Society and Chancellor, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, presided over the function. Dr. Vivek A.Saoji, Vice-Chancellor,  Dr. V.A.Kothiwale, Registrar and Dr. N.S.Mahantashetti, Principal, J.N.Medical College, Belagavi were present on the occasion. Shri Amit Shah took keen interest in seeing and knowing about the various simulation modules and stations.  He appreciated the incorporation of the latest technologies in medical education and training. The members of the Board of Management of KLE Society were also present on the occasion. The Coordinators of KLE Advanced Simulation centre Dr Abhijit Gogate and Dr. Rajesh Mane, Secretaries  Dr Chaitanya Kamat and Dr Shreedevi Yenni were present.

The dignitaries also visited the Pathology Museum of J.N.Medical College, which is a pride of the College. Shri Amit Shah saw several rare pathology specimen with great interest and appreciated the role of KLE  in the field of medical education.

The KLE Advanced simulation Centre has been set up with state-of-art, Hi-Tech Hi-Fidelity computerized Simulators which will not only help in teaching and training of Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate medical students but also help practicing doctors to hone their operative / procedural skills without jeopardizing the patient safety and patient autonomy.  This is particularly relevant in situation like the COVID-19 pandemic. The students will be able to learn procedural skills, diagnose and manage various complex and critical clinical scenarios in the simulation centre in a safe and controlled environment. This is one of the best Simulation Centres in the country and among the first in Northern Karnataka.
