KLE DEEMED UNIVERSITY AWARDED ‘DISTRICT GREEN CHAMPION’
It is a matter of great pride that the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Deemed-to-be-University, Belagavi, Karnataka has been recognized as ‘District Green Champion’ for Belagavi District, Karnataka State for the academic year 2020-21 for successfully implementing the Swachhta Action Plan and Best Practices in the areas of Sanitation, Hygiene, Waste Management, Water Management, Energy Management and Greenery Management.
As per the directive of the Ministry of Education, MGNCRE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India is awarding Institutions for Contribution to Swachhta Education and Practice.
The ‘One District One Green Champion’ Award was announced in a formal function held On-line on 6th August 2021. Shri M.G.Hiremath, Deputy Commissioner, Belagavi announced the Award conferred to KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Deemed-to-be-University, Belagavi. Mr. Melvin Co-ordinator, MGNCRE, Hyderabad welcomed and co-ordinated the function. Dr. Vivek Saoji, Vice-Chancellor, KAHER while receiving the Award On-line briefed the Swachhta initiatives undertaken by the KAHER and its constituent units. Dr. V.A.Kothiwale, Registrar and Dr, Ashwini Narasannavar, NSS Program Co-ordinator were present. Dr. M.S.Ganachari, Deputy Registrar, KAHER proposed vote of thanks.
Hon. Chancellor Dr. Prabhakar Kore and Hon. Vice-Chancellor Dr.Vivek A.Saoji congratulated the entire team for this unique achievement.
